Dr. Sandra Gibney is the founder and medical director of Gibney Mobile Healthcare, an organization that provides critical medical services to individuals who are homebound or living in underserved areas. Through her leadership, Gibney Mobile Healthcare has made a significant impact in Delaware, providing accessible healthcare services to those who need it most.
She earned her medical degree from Thomas Jefferson Medical College, where she received top-notch training and developed her passion for providing high-quality healthcare. Prior to medical school, Dr. Gibney attended the University of Delaware, where she graduated Summa Cum Laude with both her Bachelor's and Master's degrees.
Dr. Gibney's extensive experience in emergency medicine spans over 34 years, during which she has served as an associate director of emergency services at both Saint Francis Hospital in Wilmington and The Graduate Hospital in Philadelphia. Her years of clinical experience have honed her skills in treating a broad range of medical conditions, from acute injuries to chronic illnesses.
When she is not working with Gibney Mobile Healthcare, Dr. Gibney can be found working at Newark Urgent Care in Newark, DE. Her clinical experience and expertise have made her an invaluable member of the medical community in Delaware, and she is highly respected by her colleagues and patients alike.
In addition to her work with Gibney Mobile Healthcare and Newark Urgent Care, Dr. Gibney serves as committee chairwoman for the Lieutenant Governor's Behavioral Health Consortium. In this role, she is responsible for coordinating efforts to improve access to behavioral health services and reduce the stigma surrounding mental health.
She is also an adjunct professor at the University of Delaware's College of Health Science, where she shares her knowledge and experience with the next generation of healthcare professionals. Her dedication to education and mentorship is evident in the numerous students she has trained and inspired over the years.
Dr. Sandra Gibney is not only a highly accomplished physician and philanthropist but also a loving wife and pet owner. She resides in Wilmington with her husband of 20 years, Rick Schuder, as well as her three dogs and domesticated foxes.
Despite her busy schedule, Dr. Gibney still finds time to prioritize her physical and mental well-being. At the age of 61, she is an avid runner and weightlifter, remaining competitive in both sports. Her dedication to leading a healthy lifestyle is evident in her commitment to fitness and serves as an inspiration to her patients and colleagues alike.
Dr. Gibney's philanthropic efforts are inspired by her mother, Mary Rita Gibney who instilled in her the guiding principles of always doing the right thing and being kind. Her unwavering commitment to doing what is right and treating others with kindness and respect is a testament to her character and has earned her the admiration and respect of those who know her. -

Amanda L. Mahler, PA-C, is a physician assistant and the Assistant Medical Director of Gibney Mobile Healthcare. She is a vital member of our team and plays a crucial role in ensuring that our patients receive the highest quality care possible.
Amanda obtained her undergraduate degree from Monmouth University. She went on to pursue her Masters in Medical Sciences - Physician Assistant Studies from Arcadia University, where she gained valuable experience in providing comprehensive care to patients.
Throughout her career, Amanda has been a fierce advocate for reproductive health and has dedicated countless hours to ensuring that all patients have access to the care they need. Amanda is also a staunch advocate for LGBTQ+ inclusivity in healthcare, she is an OutCare Certified provider and has done over 100 hours of training on healthcare needs specific to the LGBTQ+ community.
Amanda has worked with LGBTQ+ organizations to provide education and training to healthcare providers on issues related to gender and sexual identity. She is passionate about creating a welcoming and inclusive environment for all patients, and has made it a priority to ensure that our organization is a safe space for members of the LGBTQ+ community.
As Assistant Medical Director, Amanda brings a unique perspective and skillset to our organization. Her passion for reproductive health and LGBTQ+ inclusivity in healthcare has helped us to expand our services and reach more patients than ever before. She is committed to providing compassionate care and empowering all people to take control of their health and well-being.
